DENUNCIAN MATANZA DE TORTUGAS GOLFINAS EN BOCA DE PASCUALES
+Personal de seguridad que patrulla las playas han llegado a encontrar en un día hasta 27 quelonios sin vida; señalaron que hay saqueadores de huevos que mata a las tortugas rajándolas en el mar hasta desangrarse, mientras otras mueren ahorcadas en las redes de los pescadores que ponen trasmallos a pesar de que está prohibido.
El excomisario de Boca de Pascuales, Tecomán, Jorge Enríquez, denunció que la mortandad de tortugas golfinas que se ha venido dando en la playa se debe al trasmallo que realizan los pescadores, y advirtió que si las autoridades no hacen algo al respecto,
“Si la Profepa y la Conapesca no ponen ciertos límites a estos trasmallos en un futuro ya no vamos a tener tortugas golfinas”, apuntó.
Dio a conocer que tan sólo en un recorrido que realizó en un día, encontró 27 tortugas muertas, “me ha tocado ver tortugas ahorcadas en los trasmallos, heridas, por eso necesitamos que se intensifiquen los operativos para frenar estas redes de pesca que ocasionan la muerte de estos animales”.
Inclusive, detalló que ha encontrado tortugas mutiladas y destazadas que dejan a la deriva desangrándose, “las abren para robarles los huevos y las dejan tiradas en el agua y salen del mar a morirse en la arena”.
Señaló que muchos de los pescadores abusan de los permisos y llegan de otras playas, como de Boca de Apiza, El Real, El Chupadero, y Tecuanillo, “son redes de pesca, los seises y los ochos, que llegan a poner sus trasmallos aunque sepan que está prohibido, y la Conapesca no hace nada al respecto”.
Enfatizó que los elementos de seguridad de Boca de Pacuales continúan patrullando la playa para proteger a los quelonios de las personas que se acercan para robarles sus huevos, pero es insuficiente, por lo que necesitan del apoyo de las autoridades ambientales para reforzar los operativos y evitar las matanzas.
“Hasta la fecha, desde que iniciaron las lluvias y la arribazón de tortugas, no ha venido personal ni de la Profepa, ni de ninguna otra dependencia y nos urge detener a la gente que viene a sacar los huevos o a robarse a las tortugas para matarlas y robárselos”, apuntó.
Por lo anterior, hizo un llamado a las autoridades de la Profepa y Conapesca para que intervengan y resuelvan esta problemática, ya sea por medio de sanciones a quienes cometan este tipo de actos, campañas para concientizar a la población sobre la preservación de este ejemplar en peligro de extinción y de la vigilancia en las playas.
Finalmente, comentó que no han tenido el respaldo del gobierno federal, como en otras administraciones, “antes sí nos apoyaban, nos mandaban gente a vigilar las playas, pero ahora nada, ni mucho menos recursos para nosotros poder contratar a más personas para que patrullen”, por lo que urgió que se atienda su petición, “nos urge que vengan y vean lo que está pasando, porque si esto sigue así, ya no va haber tortugas”.
